Current position: Chairman and CEO of Jupitermedia Corporation (Nasdaq: JUPM). Jupitermedia employs 292 people and includes JupiterWeb - the Internet publishing and commerce division of Jupitermedia which includes five distinct online networks for IT professionals ( and EarthWeb), developers (DevX), interactive marketers ( and graphic professionals (; Jupiter Research, a leading international research advisory organization specializing in business and technology market research in 18 business areas and 14 vertical markets; and Jupiter Events, which produces offline conferences and trade shows focused on IT and business-specific topics, including Wi-Fi Planet, Search Engine Strategies and Internet Planet.

Meckler created a newsletter in October 1990 called Internet World. This launch was the first "content" play for the Internet. Through his company Mecklermedia (Nasdaq: MECK), Meckler went on to create the Internet World trade shows (the fastest growing trade shows in trade show history -- in terms of revenue and paid square feet). Mecklermedia was acquired by Penton Media, Inc. (NYSE: PME) in November 1998 for $274 million in cash. This represented nearly a 1000% return from the IPO of February 1994. After the deal was completed, Meckler purchased an 80.1% interest in the Mecklermedia Web site which became the independent company, Corporation. The company went public in June 1999. On September 4, 2002, the company announced that it had changed its name from Corporation to Jupitermedia Corporation, following the acquisition of the assets of the Jupiter Research and Events businesses from Jupiter Media Metrix, Inc.
