Marketing Manager for Argentina

Martin Gallone joined MercadoLibre at its beginnings, in 1999. His first role in the company was leading the Design Team. In the year 2001 he switched to a more macro role, as Corporate Product Manager. Since January 2005, Martin is the Marketing Manager for the Argentina operations.

As Marketing Manager, he is responsible for the definition and execution of the Marketing strategy and brand positioning for Argentina. His main responsibilities include: Strategic Partnerships, Paid Search, Natural Search, Affiliate Marketing, Onsite Marketing, Direct Marketing, Product Marketing and other MercadoLibre's on-line initiatives aimed at driving and increasing traffic.

Martin has graduated with honors in Business Administration from the University of Buenos Aires. He has an executive degree in Business Management Program from the San Andres University and is currently doing an MBA in the IAE University, Buenos Aires.

Martin is also focused on understanding and attending the needs of his social environment and through Proyecto Emprender (PROEM), a non-profit charitable organization which he co-founded, provides advanced training and tools for unemployed young students to enable them to develop profitable professional projects.


Martín Gallone ingresó a MercadoLibre en sus comienzos, en el año 1999. Su primer rol en la empresa fue como Jefe del Departamento de Diseño. En el año 2001, cambio de rol a una posición más global, como Gerente de Producto Corporativo. Desde comienzos de 2005 Martín es el Gerente de Marketing de MercadoLibre Argentina.

Como Gerente de Marketing, es responsable por la definición y ejecución de la estrategia de marketing y posicionamiento de marca en argentina. Sus principales responsabilidades incluyen: Alianzas estratégicas, Paid Search, Natural Search, Programa de afiliados, Marketing Onsite y Directo, Marketing del producto y otras iniciativas online que apuntan a conducir y acrecentar el trafico del sitio.

Martín cuenta con un titulo de grado en Administración de Empresas de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), donde se graduó con honores. A su vez ha realizado un Programa Ejecutivo de Administración de Empresas en la Universidad de San Andrés, y esta actualmente realizando un MBA en la Universidad IAE, en Buenos Aires.

Martín también está enfocado en entender las necesidades de su entorno social y a través de Proyecto Emprender (PROEM), una fundación sin fines de lucro de la cuál fue uno de sus fundadores, provee capacitaciones y herramientas para jóvenes desempleados para ayudarlos a desarrollar emprendimientos profesionales exitosos.
