As Chief Technology Officer for Inktomi's Search Solutions Division, Dr. Michael Palmer is responsible for the strategy and evaluation of new search technologies. Dr. Palmer joined Inktomi in April 1996 and, previously, was a consultant at Silicon Graphics, Inc. Dr. Palmer received his B.S. in Physics from Yale University and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the California Institute of Technology. He holds several patents in the area of information retrieval, including Inktomi's Concept Induction technology, which is used to automatically categorize Web pages.
