Sean is a seasoned industry executive with a strong understanding of the evolving local search marketplace. During his career, Sean has held both sales and operations positions at publishing and Internet companies and this base of experience serves him well in his current role as assistant vice president of competitive strategies and business development at R.H. Donnelley.
He is currently responsible for setting the strategy and business development activities associated with RHD’s digital product offerings. He is focused on identifying new ways to leverage the company’s rich, advertising content in the online world through local online search and local search engine marketing solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses.
Prior to this role, Sean was with Trader Publishing Company as general manager of EmploymentGuide.com, a recruitment website focused on hourly-wage positions. During this period, he was responsible for re-launching, re-branding, and monetizing the site formerly known as CareerWeb.com. Through his direction, the site earned industry recognition as a user-choice awards winner, and was effectively monetized through creative use of Trader Publishing Company’s existing print sales channel and the establishment of a new dedicated sales force.
Sean started his career with R.H. Donnelley as an account executive and quickly moved up through the sales organization. While with RHD, he held a number of leadership positions in outside sales, sales management, general management, marketing, sales planning, and operations.
Sean earned a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Economics at Denison University in Granville, Ohio and has also completed advanced coursework at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School in Chapel Hill, NC.
