Lumbard has been involved in the development, marketing and management of The Washington Post Company's online services for three years. She is currently responsible for leading Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive's (WPNI) efforts to grow, retain and target its users, including data gathering, precision ad targeting, e-mail newsletters and special offers, and outreach services available via mobile phones and PDAs. Lumbard has also served as WPNI's director of business strategy and development and product management director for WPNI's online recruitment products.
Under Lumbard's leadership, WPNI's e-mail newsletter offerings have taken on a consumer focus resulting in product enhancements, an increase in subscribers and ad revenue. A major initiative for the Web site, the survey page has increased the online ad revenues to WPNI and has enabled washingtonpost.com to better understand the demographic make-up of its nearly 7 million monthly visitors.
Prior to joining WPNI, Lumbard was the director of business development for BrassRing, a national provider of recruiting solutions. She began her career as a business analyst at The Washington Post Company and later joined Legi-Slate, a Post subsidiary, as marketing director for this Capitol Hill-oriented online research service.
